Keeping Manly’s Seniors mobile – and safe

1 Apr 2016

On Tuesday 12 April, Manly’s Senior Citizens can enjoy a morning tea while gaining hints and tips for staying mobile - and staying safe.

Manly Council is hosting a free session at Manly Library (in Market Lane) where an NRMA representative will present a workshop detailing older driver licencing rules, enhancing driving skills, new road rules and the use of motorized scooters.

The presentation will also have hints and tips for keeping safe as a pedestrian.

Booking is essential. Call 9976 1619 and speak to the Road Safety Officer.

The presentation is a feature of Manly Council Seniors Festival activities.

Popular children’s author Anna Fienberg

Acclaimed children's writer Anna Fienberg, author of many popular and award-winning books including the Tashi series, Figaro and Rumba, Louis Beside Himself, Number 8 and Horrendo's Curse, will be reading from her latest adventure novel, Wicked's Way, at a special, free presentation at Manly Library, from 4.00pm on Wednesday (6 April).

A fabulous new high-seas pirate adventure, with scoundrels and blaggards, devilish treachery and pirates who long for a bit of comfort, Wicked's Way is great reading for 8 to 12 year olds.

To register on-line to receive an event reminder, either go to the Manly Council website’s Manly Library page under ‘What’s On at Manly Library’ - or simply join us on the day.

Manly Library is adjacent to Council’s Whistler Street undercover car park with ground floor parking for parents with children in prams.
