Mayor's Weekly Message
New Swim Centre Fitness Centre provides exceptional value
6 May 2016
Council is confident that the upgraded Andrew ‘Boy’ Charlton Swim Centre’s state-of-the-art Fitness Centre will meet community and visitor demand for a level of service and amenity above the run-of-the-mill gym, setting a new standard for this kind of facility.
Fitness Centre patrons will get access to modern equipment, sauna, steam room and spa, a modern crèche, and many other state-of-the-art, world class gymnasium features – and full access to the rest of the Andrew ‘Boy’ Charlton Swim Centre facilities, too.
Careful analysis of market conditions, potential demand and pricing of comparable high-standard services has informed the Fitness Centre pricing structure.
The Annual Gym fee entitles members to Access All Areas (AAA) and use of all equipment and onsite health and fitness professionals. Classes will be offered to members as part of their annual fee.
Gym membership includes fitness assessment, and fitness and training advice and programs. It will also include classes as they are introduced.
The annual fees represent value-for-money providing an exceptional health, fitness, well-being, and life-style experience.
Introductory membership fees will be offered for the new gym and indoor pools following their official launch during July 2016.
Join in the Manly Rotary Fun Run
The Fun Run course suits everyone. The two-kilometre course is ‘wheelchair friendly’ and children can join in.
You can walk, run or jog two, five or even ten kilometres if you are really serious!
Through the Fun Run, Manly’s residents have over the years funded local projects like our Women’s Shelter, Bear Cottage, the new Pioneer Clubhouse, the Royal Far West Bus Stop project, Sailability, as well as lockers and showers for our homeless.
Guy Leech will be joining in the Manly Rotary Fun Run on 22 May, helping raise money to put defibrillators on our Northern Beaches.
Guy lost a paddling mate for want of a defibrillator on the beach.
Join in again this year! Go to manlyfunrun.org to register.
